Educator – Suzuki Teacher Trainer
Zeah graduated from the Conservatorium at University of Melbourne, majoring in Classical Guitar Performance. Her teachers have included Peter Lynch, Marion Schaap and Aleksandr Tsiboulski.
Zeah went on to develop a special interest in early childhood music, recognizing the importance of the early years in fostering a love of music and in developing important pre-instrumental skills. Zeah has worked as an Orff-Schulwerk & Kodaly educator in the community, in pre-schools, and schools.
Zeah has been a Suzuki Guitar teacher since 1993, when Suzuki guitar launched in Australia. She worked closely with Frank Longay, one of the chief pioneers of the Suzuki Guitar School and visited his school in the USA numerous times for further study. Zeah has a thriving teaching studio in Melbourne with students from pre-school age through to adults, beginners to advanced.
Zeah is in demand as a workshop tutor, and travels regularly to work with students and to lead Teacher Training at workshops and conferences throughout Australia, and internationally (including New Zealand, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Japan, Italy, Norway, USA & Mexico). The shared experiences of teachers, parents and students across the regions is both inspiring and humbling.
Zeah is active as a member of Suzuki Music (Victoria) and serves on the Suzuki Music Guitar Committee. She is Co-Director of Professional Development for Suzuki Music (Victoria) and is also a member of the International Suzuki Association Guitar Committee which reviews and develops the Suzuki Guitar School materials.
Alongside her teaching studio, playing with the Altazena Guitar Trio, practicing Iyengar yoga, and reading bring creativity & balance to life.
