Jesper Colleen A. Mercado earned his bachelor’s degree in Music, major in Piano at the University of the Philippines College of Music in Diliman with Prof. Gemma Malicdem. He obtained his Master's degree in Piano Performance at the Philippine Women’s University with Dr. Abelardo Galang II.

He travelled with the multi-awarded UP Concert Chorus as their resident pianist in their 20th international concert tour, which brought him and his vast talents to countries such as the US, Spain, Andorra, the UK, Hungary, Germany, Switzerland, Finland, Italy and Malaysia.

Some of his most notable works include a rendering of Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue at Fort Bonifacio and Miriam College with the Metro Manila Community Orchestra (MMCO) under the direction of Prof. Josefino 'Chino' Toledo, as well as a performance of Gershwin's Piano Concerto in F at the Philam Life Auditorium with the UP Orchestra under the baton of Prof. Edna Martinez. The latter was performed for winning first prize under the Contemporary category of the UP Piano Centennial Competition.

Jesper worked with the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra under Maestro Gerard Salonga's direction, as their Principal Pianist from 2013 to 2019. He has also performed with Ms. Lea Salonga and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, under the baton of Maestro Gerard Salonga at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre in 2014. Jesper has also worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry here and abroad such as Claude Michel Schonberg, IL Divo, Andrea Bocelli, The UP Concert Chorus, The Philippine Madrigal Singers, Gerard Salonga, Maestro Ryan Cayabyab, Marvin Querido, Raul Mitra, Louie Ocampo, Lani Misalucha and to name a few. At present, he enjoys his career as a piano teacher, session musician and a collaborative artist.
