Giuseppe Andre Diestro
Born in 1988 into a family of musicians, Giuseppe Andre Diestro is a Cellist, Teacher, and Conductor. He finished his Bachelor of Music degree in Cello Performance (2011) at the University of the Philippines College of Music. Through a Scholarship Grant given by the French Embassy, he pursued further studies and finished the program “Perfectionnement” at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Regional de Dijon, France. His teachers include Eduardo Pasamba (Philippines) and Christian Wolff (France). He has played in masterclasses with Richard Bamping, Othmar Müller, Micha Haran and Victor Coo.
He has performed with several orchestras here and abroad. He served as Principal Cellist of the Southeast Asian Youth Orchestra (Thailand) and played for the Manila Symphony Orchestra. He was also appointed as the Assistant Principal Cellist of the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra. At present, he is a member of the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra. He was also Cellist of the Lozada Piano Trio.
He is the Conductor of the RLSAA Chamber Orchestra, and the Angono Chamber Orchestra. He is also Music Director of the Angono National Symphonic Band. He is currently a Cello and Chamber Music faculty at the St. Scholastica’s College School of Music.
